Dates to Remember

Sounds unrealistic, doesn’t it? If we were in a relationship with this pursuer, wouldn’t we unashamedly place him at the top of our agenda everyday? Amazingly, we do have a Pursuer like this. Sadly, we don’t put Him at the top of our list. In fact most of the time, He doesn’t even make the list. But He is the list.

Whether we realize it or not, we have an agenda every day. And if Christ is not at the top of the list, then He isn’t there at all. Sometimes we forget that our relationship with Christ is all that really matters. If we do anything without turning to God first, then our plans and activities fall short of any importance. We should be reserving time in each day to get to know Christ because, believe it or not, He is pursuing us.

To make your days count, start making Christ the focus of each day by putting Him at the top of your list. Bump “getting dressed” to the second item on your agenda and start the day off praising the Lord in your pajamas! That’s only the beginning. Take a prayer walk during your lunch break, sing praises to Him in the shower, sit quietly outside and rejoice in His creation…the possibilities are endless.

He wants a date with you. You can have a date with Jesus every day! How amazing! Your day can be filled with surpassing greatness by knowing Christ Jesus! And be adventurous…no one wants to go on a boring date.

Questions for Your Life: Do you put more time and effort into getting to know the man in your life (or wanting one) than you do getting to know Christ? If the list isn’t something you see yourself doing, what is something that will encourage you to spend time with Christ?
